Frequently asked questions

Preparation, meetings, support and practical arrangements.

Before the consultation

What should I prepare beforehand?

After your booking is confirmed, I will send a short questionnaire in a format we agree on — along with guidance on the photos and videos we may need before the video call. We agree in advance on how to share materials. Please send the questionnaire and other materials as early as possible to allow time for analysis and preparation, and no later than 24 hours before the video call.

Should I see a vet first?

Not always. But if your cat’s behaviour has changed suddenly (even if stress seems to be the cause), or you notice changes in appetite, litter-box use, activity or general wellbeing, pain or other health problems may be involved. In that case, it is important to contact a vet as soon as possible, without waiting for a consultation with me. I do not make medical diagnoses or prescribe treatment.

Will an online consultation work for us?

Yes, online consultations often work very well for cat behaviour. Your cat stays at home in familiar surroundings, where it is easier to behave naturally. I gather the information we need through our conversation, your observations, photos and videos.

Can I ask for advice before a problem develops?

Of course. We can prepare for choosing a cat and bringing them home, and help your cat prepare for a vet visit, another pet, a baby, travel, a flight, moving home or other changes.

During the consultation

How long is the first consultation?

The first meeting lasts 60–120 minutes. Follow-ups last up to 45 minutes.

Does my cat need to be on camera?

No. Your cat does not have to be on camera during the call. It is helpful if you can show or describe important places in their living space. There is no need to tidy up or rearrange things beforehand: the natural setting helps us see your cat’s world through their eyes.

Can the whole family take part?

Yes. If changes involve several people at home, it is helpful for them to join the conversation, especially when we discuss the plan. Family members can join from the start, only for the planning discussion, or not join at all.

Which languages do you offer?

In Russian and English.

When and where do video appointments take place?

Working days for replying to messages are Monday–Friday. Video meetings also usually take place on weekdays, at a time we agree in advance. Weekend meetings are sometimes possible, but not guaranteed. We choose a convenient video-call service together.

After the consultation

What will I receive after the meeting?

During the first consultation, we identify specific steps together that your family can take to improve the situation. I will also send you a written plan within 3 working days after the first meeting, earlier whenever possible.

Can I ask questions between meetings?

Yes. Telegram or email support covers clarifications about existing recommendations and help with small difficulties in putting them into practice. I reply within 2 working days (Monday–Friday). Support does not include detailed progress or homework review, new concerns, substantial reassessment or a new plan by message, and it is not an emergency service. You can always arrange an additional follow-up consultation for a more detailed discussion. If you are unsure whether your question is covered by support, please write: I will help you decide whether we can address it by message or whether a meeting would be better.

Can I send videos after the first consultation?

Yes, it is very helpful if you send videos and observations for analysis as early as possible before the follow-up. This does not mean immediate detailed analysis in chat: I will watch and analyse them before the meeting, and during the follow-up video consultation we will discuss your successes, difficulties, observations and important points from the materials.

When do we meet again?

We choose the timing of follow-ups individually, usually 1–2 weeks after the first meeting. Depending on the situation, the interval may range from 1 day to 3 months after the previous meeting. We agree on a specific date subject to availability.

What if the recommendations don’t suit our household?

From the first consultation, I will not offer you a template solution. We will look for compromises and choose steps that are realistic for your family. If you start working on the plan and find that something is not working, that is a reason to revisit the plan, not to consider the work a failure. At the follow-up, we will consider your time, budget and constraints, discuss successes and difficulties, and choose more manageable steps together.

How many consultations might we need?

It is not possible to say exactly in advance. The main format includes an initial consultation and one follow-up, which may be enough in many cases. If you need more frequent assessment, monitoring of changes and support as we work, you can always purchase additional consultations to continue.

Can you guarantee results?

Unfortunately, it is not possible to guarantee the desired result with 100% certainty. Cat behaviour depends on many factors, including health, the environment, what is manageable for the family and much more. We will aim for a realistic goal and adapt the plan if difficulties arise.

How long does support last?

Standard and initial-only: 14 calendar days starting when the written plan is sent. Extended: 6 weeks starting when the written plan is sent. A new concern in a returning household: 14 calendar days starting when the written plan is sent. The messaging boundaries are the same for all formats.

Fees & practicalities

What does the main option include?

Preparation, an initial meeting 60–120 minutes, a written plan, one follow-up up to 45 minutes and 14 calendar days of support starting when the plan is sent. The fee is 7,900 RUB.

Do I have to choose a package with a follow-up?

No. On request, you can choose an initial-only consultation (5,900 RUB): preparation, a meeting 60–120 minutes, a written plan and 14 calendar days of limited support starting when the plan is sent. It does not include a follow-up or detailed progress review after the initial consultation. You can add follow-ups later if you wish.

How do payment, cancellation and rescheduling work?

Before booking, we discuss your concern, the format, price and a convenient date for the video call. Once we agree, I will provisionally hold your chosen time for 24 hours and send the payment details. Your booking is confirmed only after full prepayment is received. If payment is not received within 24 hours, the time becomes available for booking again. Payment is by transfer to a Russian bank account, for example using a phone number. After receiving payment, I issue and send a receipt through “Мой налог” (My Tax). With at least 24 hours’ notice, you can reschedule free of charge to another mutually convenient available time or cancel with a full refund of your prepayment. If you cancel less than 24 hours before the meeting or after work has begun, the refund is calculated in accordance with applicable law. Any deductions must have a lawful, substantiated basis; there is no fixed cancellation penalty. Prepayment for the whole package is not automatically forfeited. If you cannot attend or miss the meeting, contact me as soon as you can. Late rescheduling and missed appointments are considered individually; a free reschedule is not guaranteed in these cases. Missing a meeting does not by itself mean automatic forfeiture of the whole package payment. These terms do not restrict rights granted to clients by applicable law, including the right to cancel services. For cancellation, refund or service-quality enquiries, email saramutina@gmail.com.
